Success it the progressive realization of a worthy ideal!   The discipline to prioritize and the ability to work towards a stated goal are essential to a leaders success.   The Pareto Principle: The 80/20 Rule Top 20 percent of you priorities will give you 80 percent of your production.   As leaders we must: Determine which people in our organization make up the top 20 percent. Spend 80 percent of your “people time” with the top 20 percent. Spend 80 percent of your personal development dollars on the top 20 percent. Ask the top 20 percent to identify and train their top 20 percent. One of my favorite quotes is "We don't get what we want out of life, we get what we are".  We have to become the person that deserves our goals and dreams.  Until we become that person our dreams will never become reality. I read a passage by poet William Arthur Ward that encouraged me.  I hope it does for you too.   Believe while others are doubting. Plan while others are playing. Study while others are sleeping. Decide while others are delaying. Prepare while others are daydreaming. Begin while others are procrastinating. Work while others are wishing. Save while others are wasting. Listen while others are talking. Smile while others are frowning. Commend while others are criticizing. Persist while others are quitting. So I ask you "Are you ready?".  Carpe Diem... I've been asking myself this serious question for the last few weeks "Am I a quitter, an incubator, or a builder?".  That can be a tough question to ask yourself as an entrepreneur because you have to look in the mirror.  Activities like writing down you goals, organizing your calendar, or buying business cards can "trick" you into thinking that you are actually building a business.  The activities that make you a business builder are the ones that generate income!  I challenge you to take a look at your daily activities and determine if they generate income or lead you in that direction.  If those activities are not moving you towards a profit then it is time to reevaluate....So I ask you "Are you a Quitter, Incubator, or Builder?".  Carpe Diem... It's 2016!!!  We made it!  I don't know about you but the older I get the faster the years go by.  I hope that you have taken some time to think and have a vision of exactly how you want your 2016 to become.  I read a quote by Mike Hyatt that said "If you have a clear vision, you will eventually attract the right strategy.  If you don't have a clear vision, no strategy will save you".  I am taking that stance going into 2016.  I know the vision I have for my life; but I do not know exactly how I will get there.  The one thing that I am certain of is that I will stay focused and stand in my gift of speaking & inspiring.  We have 366 days in 2016 to design the life that we want to live.  DO NOT WASTE one of them!  Before you know it the clock will be counting down on 2016 and we will be saying Happy New Year 2017.   Carpe Diem... This past year I had a several great opportunity to speak at high schools here in Atlanta.  As a former teacher I knew that I had to come up with some material that will first get their attention and secondly keep their attention.  I toiled over ideas for a few weeks and finally developed the acronym H.U.S.T.L.E. "The American Dream".  I wanted to provide my audience with some useful tips that most people never really think about.  H.U.S.T.L.E. I just received the best compliment that someone could give me right now!  A high school classmate sent me a Facebook message ending it with "You are not the person I use to know". If you haven't realized; it is the best time of the year!  It is FOOTBALL SEASON!  One challenge that I took on in 2015 is to become a football referee.  It is week 5 here in Georgia and I am starting to enjoy officiating football.  Watching the kids in high school play reminds me of my days at THE Peach County High School with my brother Randy McMichael, best friends Louis Ivory, DJ Starling, Nekeyma Wright and many more.  We take football very serious here in the state of Georgia.  Friday nights should be considered national holidays and the stadiums are hallowed grounds where champions are made.  One thing we were taught at THE Peach County High School is 48 Minutes of Black Hat in the Mouth.  We were going to fight for 48 full minutes.  It did not matter what the score was or what challenges we faced. The weekend is almost over but I hope that you are enthused about the upcoming week.   Question of the day: Would you roast your Grandmother? One of my favorite quotes is "Go where you are celebrated not tolerated".  This holds true when it comes to you marketing on social media.  There are several social media platforms and most entrepreneurs have a Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.  You have to determine which platform is going to help you produce results! Monitor and Evolve There is only one point in marketing your business and that's to generate leads!  Social media can give you a false impression because you may get a lot of "likes" but if you are not converting those "likes" into leads then your marketing is not working.  Keep track of what gets you leads.  If it doesn't generate leads then it is time to change it.   Share Don't Sell This is a simple yet seldom used concept.  No one likes to be sold.  Share value then allow people to make a decision!
