Did I mention that I hated Fort Valley?  Not that Fort Valley was a bad place but I never fit in.  I did not have a lot of friends growing up.  I was light skin with a cleft chin and my middle name was Lopez, so I was always asked if I was Mexican.  This was a small town in the south, so everyone was either black or white.  I was too light skin for some people and too dark for the other people.  I did not have birthday parties or sleepovers.  The only sport that my Gram would allow me to play until I got to Jr. High was baseball.  I was sheltered and a frankly I was a cry baby all through elementary school.   I was starting 6th grade which in Fort Valley was a part of Jr. High School.  This was a rough year for your boy!  My first day I remember thinking damn these some big ass kids.  I swear that entire 8th grade class was all on steroids.  I am talking about the girls too.  I was this quiet awkward kid trying t...

First off, let me apologize if my cursing offends.  There are times when a vulgar word is needed to emphasize the point of a statement and "Forget a Mentor" just did not have the same ring lol.  I recorded this video, F*** a Mentor, because I see so many entrepreneurs that are stuck in their business then have the thoughts that a mentor is going to sprinkle some magic dust and everything will skyrocket.  I wasted a lot of time over the years waiting on a mentor, searching for a mentor, and claiming mentors.  Trust me when I say I  know the value of TRUE mentoring.  Everyone is not qualified nor equipped to be your mentor.  Put in the work and your real mentor will find you.        "Mentoring is who you are as much as what you do." One of my favorite quotes is "We don't get what we want out of life, we get what we are".  We have to become the person that deserves our goals and dreams.  Until we become that person our dreams will never become reality. I read a passage by poet William Arthur Ward that encouraged me.  I hope it does for you too.   Believe while others are doubting. Plan while others are playing. Study while others are sleeping. Decide while others are delaying. Prepare while others are daydreaming. Begin while others are procrastinating. Work while others are wishing. Save while others are wasting. Listen while others are talking. Smile while others are frowning. Commend while others are criticizing. Persist while others are quitting. So I ask you "Are you ready?".  Carpe Diem... I've been asking myself this serious question for the last few weeks "Am I a quitter, an incubator, or a builder?".  That can be a tough question to ask yourself as an entrepreneur because you have to look in the mirror.  Activities like writing down you goals, organizing your calendar, or buying business cards can "trick" you into thinking that you are actually building a business.  The activities that make you a business builder are the ones that generate income!  I challenge you to take a look at your daily activities and determine if they generate income or lead you in that direction.  If those activities are not moving you towards a profit then it is time to reevaluate....So I ask you "Are you a Quitter, Incubator, or Builder?".  Carpe Diem... 52 Week Money Challenge    

It's 2016!!!  We made it!  I don't know about you but the older I get the faster the years go by.  I hope that you have taken some time to think and have a vision of exactly how you want your 2016 to become.  I read a quote by Mike Hyatt that said "If you have a clear vision, you will eventually attract the right strategy.  If you don't have a clear vision, no strategy will save you".  I am taking that stance going into 2016.  I know the vision I have for my life; but I do not know exactly how I will get there.  The one thing that I am certain of is that I will stay focused and stand in my gift of speaking & inspiring.  We have 366 days in 2016 to design the life that we want to live.  DO NOT WASTE one of them!  Before you know it the clock will be counting down on 2016 and we will be saying Happy New Year 2017.   Carpe Diem... I just received the best compliment that someone could give me right now!  A high school classmate sent me a Facebook message ending it with "You are not the person I use to know". If you knew me from back in the day you can probably co-sign with her statement lol.   So many people are held back back by insecurities, self doubt, lack of faith, or simply their past!  Release the past and hold on to the vision you have of where you are going.  Who do you have to become to achieve greatness?!  In today's Leader of Leaders video I am speaking on The Law of the Mirror. I am utterly disgusted with how some of these so called "coaches" are being terrible examples to our youth. Parents stay involved with your kids and sports. If you haven't realized; it is the best time of the year!  It is FOOTBALL SEASON!  One challenge that I took on in 2015 is to become a football referee.  It is week 5 here in Georgia and I am starting to enjoy officiating football.  Watching the kids in high school play reminds me of my days at THE Peach County High School with my brother Randy McMichael, best friends Louis Ivory, DJ Starling, Nekeyma Wright and many more.  We take football very serious here in the state of Georgia.  Friday nights should be considered national holidays and the stadiums are hallowed grounds where champions are made.  One thing we were taught at THE Peach County High School is 48 Minutes of Black Hat in the Mouth.  We were going to fight for 48 full minutes.  It did not matter what the score was or what challenges we faced.
